A few weeks ago we went out climbing to Tijuana, an amazing sea cliff located in the area of SantanyĆ in the South-east coast of Mallorca, around 45 minutes driving from Palma.
The location is simply amazing and the access is absolutely super easy, just park the car and take a 10´ easy walk down the cliff.
The crew was composed by 5 climbers sharing 2 ropes, 3 little cuties in infant age , Ettore, Clare, Toni and the support of two fantastic and active grandpas, Miquel and Magadalena.
Everybody had a great day, I personally tried a very nice 7a called Sa Pena but I didn´t manage to send it since I was too tired from the day before (or maybe just a bit lazy) and I didn’t even give a second try. Shame on me.
All the mammies sent Trancaclosques a very nice and steep 6a+ and even try a 6c top rope! Ettore did his first solo, and barefoot! Possibly the best performance of the day!
By the end of the climbing day our finger skin was gone and our energies too, our little cuties were having a siesta, and eventually we had some time to relax and enjoy the amazing views!
Before moving back, Granpa Miquel suggested to make our way back walking through a different path that was supposed to be even easier, we all agreed and we started walking but instead of making things easier we ended up climbing up a to nowhere and eventually we were forced to go walk back to our initial location and continue to the original way making the whole walk even longer and harder.
Funny enough, eventually Granpa Miquel confessed that the last time he passed there was ‘only’ 5 or 6 year ago and by that time something had possible changed! We really had a good laugh!
Tijuana is indeed a very child friendly location! Wish you to enjoy the same way we did!
