It is quite easy to notice that in the very last few months Phuket Climbing scene has evolved at a rapid and constant speed.

If Rock Climbing in Phuket was initially confided within the limited possibilities offered by a few fellas sharing their house-walls with their friends, today many more people are joining this amazing activities.

A part from the historical work done by phuketclimbing.com, a new milestone of this irreversible process has to be undoubtedly attributed to the climbing infrastructures recently realized at Art-C House in Phuket Town which is attracting every day more people in particular young kids and a lot of Thai nationals.

Art-C House is an artistic budget hotel located in the heart of Phuket Town entirely decorated with wall painting realized by Jek Siam the owner, and his crew, a handful of incredibly talented friends.

When I met Jek the first time a few months ago, he had absolutely no idea of what rock climbing was. His unique interest was to fill some empty space of his hotel with some artistic infrastructure and he wanted to build up a climbing wall. Awesome vision!

After a few months of hard work Jek give birth to the main wall, a solid 5x12 meters wall divided in three main sessions featuring different inclinations and hundreds of hold, most of them self-made by Jek himself.

Climbing facilities are now continuously under expansion both of the first floor, where a new boulder wall has been recently completed, and on the back, were a massive boulder cave is currently under construction. Very promising.

Surely Art-C House cannot be identified as a traditional climbing gym, yet it is to be considered the first real indoor climbing facility in Phuket open to the public and its impact on the present and the future climbing scene is huge.
