The very last time I climbed in Chong Plee – aka Spirit
Mountain, was just a few months before my gorgeous baby-boy Ettore was born and now he is already incredibly 7 months old!!!
In that occasion I managed to send a classic route of the crag called Grace -7a and the video showing the crux
sequence was posted on our Phuket Climbing Facebook Page.
During the very last weekend we managed to come back to
Chong Plee after such a long stop and together with a nice group of Phuketian Climbers we had some really
good fun.
In one morning of work and only two attempts I sent Piranha, a very nice 7a characterized by a very delicate
footwork and an intricate hand sequence.
Davina, Kaitlyn and Supranee tried hard to send Seesaw, another classic 6b+ of the crag with a do-or-die dead point right below the
anchor. Unfortunately none of them accomplished, however it was so inspiring to
see three women challenged by the same route.
Here you can see the video of the final crux performed by Supranee.

Last but none the least, Isaac and myself managed to get the
whole sequence of a short but very tough and boulderouse line which is not indicated on the current topos but it seems to be graded 7b+.
The route starts with an intense overhang, before going through
a very delicate reestablishment into a slabby vertical session. From here it starts
a no-rest sequence of 7 very hard movements until the anchor.
In 4 attempts we managed to unlock all the movements, next
step will be to send it hard!
